Having landed Whirlpool's retail distribution in June (see story here), and NEFF before that (story here), Applico has also now got an exclusive with the ASKO brand in New Zealand and all new ASKO products will be imported, distributed and serviced by Applico.
Crt Prasnikar, Managing Director of ASKO Australia, says: “We are delighted to be relaunching ASKO in New Zealand with a new line-up of cooking appliances, including pro series, craft series and elements to add to the already popular laundry and dishwashing models.
“The Jones Family Business is known internationally as the New Zealand importer of whiteware and we are thrilled to be partnering with Applico and having our products retailed by the premium cooking specialist, Kitchen Things,” he says.
Mark Jones, Executive Chairman for The Jones Family Business, says: “Applico is committed to providing quality products and a premium customer experience, and ASKO is an exciting addition to our portfolio. It is a brand with a very strong following in New Zealand for dishwashers and laundry in particular and we are proud to be launching the latest world release of ASKO cooking appliances in New Zealand, with a range of market leading features.
“We have been working with the top European brands to bring them together under the Kitchen Things retail banner, and to strengthen Kitchen Things’ position as the specialist in premium European cooking appliances.”
While Award Appliances will remain responsible for all products sold prior to Applico taking on the distribution, customers can contact Applico and the company says it will co-ordinate any help required for the appliance.
The ASKO brand will be rolled out through Kitchen Things over the next two months (in fact the NZ ASKO website already lists Kitchen Things outlets - see above) and will be officially launched to the public at the Auckland Home Show in September.
[Addendum: We understand that Award Appliances also has news of a new brand to share in due course. More soon!]
