Effective 15 October 2018, Alan Dalton, current GM for Electrolux Home Care & SDA NZ (photo above), will take up the new role of General Manager AU & NZ for Electrolux HC & SDA.
With a career also encompassing roles at Award Appliances and Whirlpool, Alan has nearly 15 years’ experience with Electrolux, most of this within the HC & SDA division.
Although based at Mt Wellington, Auckland, his new role will mean a great deal of time travelling across both countries along with his responsibilities within the APAC cluster for HC & SDA.
We threw a few questions Alan's way to find out a little more about some of the implications of this new appointment.
Does your appointment change the way Electrolux intends to go about its HC & SDA business in the ANZ region?
"No, the business units will be assessed on their own merits but if we can utilise ideas in either market to improve our positions then we will use them."
What does this mean for the successful model that’s been developed in the NZ market?
"The NZ business structure is solid but always looking to evolve to ensure our business partners and the end user gets the best service Electrolux can offer."
Will this model be ported over to the Australian market?
"Where this model can be used in Australia I will certainly look to use if I can."
And will the new arrangement mean the ANZ markets may receive new products faster than in the past?
"The product release is managed by Stockholm but yes the plan will be to ensure ANZ is at the forefront of new products/ranges. 2019/2020 has some great product coming!"
Other Electrolux Home Care & SDA NZ personnel news includes the appointment of Annalise Barrett as Sales Merchandiser.
Annalise joins the team from 23 October 2018.
Home Care & SDA NZ National Sales Manager, Sandy Hitchcock, says of the news: "Annalise has a wealth of experience with sales and merchandising from her current role with Endeavour Consumer Health, and she joins us at an exciting time in the world of vacuum cleaners as we see the growth with cordless robot and stick vacuums."
