Città is New Zealand's national winner in the 2018/2019 IHA Global Innovation Awards (gia).

Home and housewares retailer Città is representing New Zealand among the 30 national Global Innovation Awards (gia) winners this year, from 29 countries around the world.

The judges said of the store:

"Città is a step up in size and professionalism on previous New Zealand entries and is a respected and trusted brand name for stylish quality housewares.

"The stores maintain an overall brand look while still utilising local inspiration and feel and, although sourcing international products of style and function, Città maintains around 40% of New Zealand designed product.

"The Città philosophy is to 'Leverage the rest of the world for inspiration and yet adapt it to the fresh, baggage-free style of New Zealand'

"Aside from an excellent example of bricks and mortar destination stores Città also successfully embraces all aspects of the digital sales environment."

Each national gia winner is invited to the International Home + Housewares Show (March 2-5, 2019) in Chicago where the global gia jury, consisting of four experts representing Asia, Europe and the Americas, plus a rotating group of co-sponsoring trade publication editors from around the world, will select up to five gia Global Honorees and the winners of the Martin M Pegler Award for Excellence in Visual Merchandising and the gia Digital Commerce Award for Excellence in Online Retailing.
