Yesterday's inaugural Wares Long Lunch was a great success - thank you to our guests, bidders and event sponsors- and to Beautiful Mantells on the Water.
We also celebrated a new inductee into the New Zealand Appliance & Electronics Industry Hall of Fame and you can read about Ted Holland here.
As well as being entertained and organised by MC Scotty "Sumo" Stevenson, attendees also had the chance to hear from and interact with former All Blacks Josh Kronfeld, Bernie McCahill, Olo Brown and Alan Whetton and thanks go out to them for being so generous with their time!
The Wares Long Lunch was in support of a highly worthwhile charity – The Child Cancer Foundation – with silent and live auctions on-site for more than $20,000 worth of top products and experiences, including a helicopter ride for four people to Waiheke for a VIP dining experience at Tantalus and also two nights accommodation for six in an idyllic kiwi beachfront Bach and a Kauri Bay Boomrock experience for five people.
Some fantastic goods went under the hammer including: whiteware packages, high-end audio products and a variety of kitchen products.
Check out the photos from the event at the link top right of this page - we'll be bringing you up to date with how much was raised for our chosen charity soon!
