Canon DSLR with 4K video
15 June 2012: Canon has just added to its Cinema EOS System line-up with the new EOS-1D C digital SLR camera. As well as being a full featured stills camera, EOS-1D C supports high-resolution 4K video capture. This product is targeting the motion picture, television and other digital high-resolution production industries with 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) video recording. EOS-1D C can record video at 4K at a frame rate of 24p, with 8-bit Motion JPEG compression, cropped to an APS-H-equivalent size angle of view. Video, including 4K, can be recorded to an inserted CF card without using peripheral equipment, and can be outputed from an HDMI terminal to an external recorder (excluding 4K video) using an uncompressed YCbCr 4:2:2 signal. EOS-1D C also supports Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) recording at a frame rate of 60p.
