30 January 2012: Last week Samsung and the New Zealand Olympic Committee launched a joint bid to win over Kiwi hearts and minds.

With just six months until the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the "Samsung Experience Truck" will be travelling the country serving as a mobile Olympic experience that gives people a chance to get up close and personal with Kiwi athletes and New Zealand’s proud Olympic history.

The truck will tour the country until the conclusion of the 2012 Olympics in August stopping off at schools, towns and events along the way.

The 18-metre long, 28-tonne bolide features a range of interactive digital experiences using the latest Samsung technology and is designed to get Kiwis involved in the run-up to the London 2012 Olympics.

Visitors to the Samsung Experience Truck can wear a replica Olympic gold medal or hold Olympic Games torches as the crowd roars in the background. They can then share images with family and friends via Facebook.

Visitors can also browse iconic New Zealand Olympic moments spanning more than 100 years of Olympic history using a specially designed mobile app. Olympic memorabilia – including the shoes Peter Snell wore to train in the lead up to the 1964 Tokyo Games – will also be on display.

Samsung New Zealand is the partner for the New Zealand London 2012 Olympics campaign as well as the official telecommunications partner for the New Zealand Olympic and Youth Olympic Games teams and the official mobile communications partner of the New Zealand Olympic Committee.

The Olympic Games in London take place between 27 July 2012 and 12 August 2012. The Samsung Experience Truck will embark on a countrywide tour bringing the Olympics closer to Kiwis all over New Zealand (go here for more information).
